Free Workshop · For Accelerators, Incubators & Founder Groups
Founder Finance Bootcamp
Demo day gets them meetings. Financial fluency gets them funded.
Most fundraising stumbles are avoidable finance stumbles: a messy cap table, cash-basis books at raise time, a missed 83(b), a term used wrong in a partner meeting. This free, hands-on working session gets your cohort fluent in the lingo, the hygiene, and what investors actually check, taught by a practicing fractional CFO who sees real diligence every week. Online or in-person, tailored to your founders. Plan for 2 to 3 hours at a minimum. No product pitch.
Running live · East Bay Founders
Financial Systems for Founders
This program already runs as a three-part working series for the East Bay Founders group, taught live by the StartupCFO team. Each session is an interactive deck with live calculators, not slides, so founders work through their own metrics, model, and board reporting in the room. Your cohort gets the same material, tailored to its stage and industry mix.

What Your Founders Learn
Working sessions, not lectures, in the same style as the Financial Systems for Founders series: founders work through the concepts on live tools. Every attendee leaves with the free template pack and a personal diligence-readiness fix-it list.
Decode
The Language of Startup Finance
The terms founders get wrong in investor conversations: runway vs burn vs burn multiple, SAFE mechanics and stacking, 409A vs priced-round valuation, the QSBS clock, the option pool shuffle, ARR vs revenue vs bookings.
Clean
Hygiene That Survives Diligence
Books that do not embarrass you: accrual from day one, the monthly close habit, the tax calendar that actually applies (the Delaware franchise trap, the 83(b) 30-day window, R&D credits), and the data-room red flags investors find.
Command
Know Your Numbers Cold
A working session with the 13-week cash forecast and burn tools on real numbers, ending with every founder taking the Diligence-Readiness Score on their phone: a concrete fix-it list before the next investor meeting.
Raise
Fundraising & Term Sheet Basics
How a raise actually works: SAFEs vs priced rounds and when each fits, reading a term sheet (valuation, liquidation preferences, pro rata, board seats), the dilution math founders regret skipping, and the diligence timeline from first meeting to money in the bank.
Why Programs Run It
For your founders
- Understand what investors actually look for: the metrics, unit economics, and clean books that get checked in every diligence process
- Spot their own red flags before an investor does: messy cap tables, missed 83(b) elections, cash-basis books at raise time, stale 409A valuations, unexplained burn
- Walk into investor meetings speaking the language: runway, burn multiple, SAFE mechanics, and valuation terms used correctly
- Leave with working templates, calculators, and a personal fix-it list they can act on the same week
For your program
- A more fundable cohort: fewer avoidable diligence failures when your companies hit the raise
- Zero-cost, zero-pitch programming from a practicing fractional CFO, tailored to your cohort mix
- Complements your mentor network with the finance depth most programs lack in-house
- A proven format already running as an ongoing founder series, not an untested talk

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the workshop really free?
Yes. The Founder Finance Bootcamp is free for accelerators, incubators, university programs, and founder groups. There is no product pitch during the session; one closing slide explains what StartupCFO does, and founders who want help reach out on their own.
Is it online or in-person?
Both formats work. Online sessions run on your platform of choice; in-person sessions are available for Bay Area programs and by arrangement elsewhere. This is a hands-on working session, not a talk: plan for 2 to 3 hours at a minimum, and longer runs are common when cohorts dig in.
Who delivers the workshop?
Harry Prabandham, StartupCFO's founder and CEO, who runs the ongoing Financial Systems for Founders series at East Bay Founders. Content is tailored to each cohort's stage and industry mix.
How do we bring it to our cohort?
Book an intro call or use the contact page. We will align on dates, format, and what your founders need most, and tailor the session accordingly.
