ClariFi · Check Advisors
Every number checked before it reaches you
Most errors in startup financials are not exotic. An expense lands in the wrong month, a margin does not tie, a qualifying R&D cost goes unclaimed. ClariFi runs those checks on every close and every import, and raises what it finds to your accountant to resolve.
Tie-out checks on every plan, from $199/mo. No long-term commitment.
How it works
- 1
Checks run on every import
Each trial-balance import and KPI update runs 19 deterministic checks. An out-of-balance trial balance is the one hard stop: it is refused before it can reach your KPIs, runway, or board pack.
- 2
Advisors review the close
The accrual cutoff and R&D credit advisors read the month and raise findings into your accountant's queue, naming the accounts to look at.
- 3
Your accountant resolves each finding
A person decides whether a finding needs a correction, and the monthly close checklist includes a step to review every tie-out before the close package goes out.
What the AI does, and what people do
AI proposes; people approve. That split is built into the product, not left to a policy.
The AI drafts
- Checks accounting identities on every import
- Flags possible accrual cutoff errors
- Flags spending that may qualify for the R&D credit
Your team decides
- Investigate and resolve every finding
- Make any correcting entry in your books
- Decide what qualifies for the R&D credit
The AI never
- Corrects your books on its own
- Lets an out-of-balance trial balance through
- Claims a tax credit: it flags candidates for people to assess
The checks
Accrual cutoff
Looks for expenses and revenue that belong in a different month, the classic source of a margin swing that reverses next month.
R&D credit candidates
Flags spending that may meet the four-part test for the R&D tax credit, so qualifying costs are not missed when the credit is claimed.
19 tie-out checks
Accounting identities checked on every trial-balance import and KPI update: the trial balance balances, gross and net margin tie, operating expenses add up, the MRR bridge reconciles, AR aging sums, and more.

Frequently asked questions
What is an accrual cutoff check?
An accrual cutoff check makes sure revenue and expenses are recorded in the month they belong to, not the month the invoice or payment happened to arrive. Cutoff errors make one month look better and the next look worse, which is exactly the kind of swing a board asks about.
Can AI decide if I qualify for the R&D tax credit?
No. ClariFi flags spending that may meet the four-part test so qualifying costs are not overlooked. Whether it qualifies is a judgment for your CPA, and R&D credit studies are available on Growth or as a Custom Project.
Can I see the tie-out checks?
The checks run in your finance team's workspace rather than on your dashboard. What you see is the result: numbers that have been checked against accounting identities before the close package reaches you.
