Know Your Requirements First
- Before evaluating any tool, document your pricing models, billing frequencies, and the payment methods and currencies you need to support.
- List the systems it must connect to, including your accounting ledger, tax engine, CRM, and payment processors, since integration gaps create manual work.
- Distinguish what you need today from what you will need after your next stage of growth so you do not outgrow the platform in a year.
- Capture compliance requirements such as revenue recognition standards and sales-tax or VAT handling that the system will have to support.
